Prince George, Duke of Cambridge (1819-1904)

Grandson of George III, member of the Royal Family, married privately and in contravention of the 1772 Royal Marriages Act to Sarah Louisa Fairbrother, an actress, who was never titled Duchess of Cambridge nor accorded the style Her Royal Highness, but instead known as "Mrs. FitzGeorge."

Everything, including Love, has its price.

Yes, Helen Mirren's flattering portrayal might lead you to think of the Queen as a sentimental softie, the doting granny, but I suspect young Harry knows she's one old lady you don't want to piss off, so if he needs reminding then will someone please do so.  Frankly, I'm worried sick about him.  Accidents happen in your family, young man!  As a certain photographer found out recently, Grandma's not some Laura Bush in an off-the-rack pants suit you can push around. [my debt to JC for this vital and clarifying insight]

My own family has always shunned the limelight.  We keep a low profile and seem to know instinctively how to avoid scandal and the attention of the press.  In fact, the last time we drew fire was in 1928 when my great aunt eloped with a young man who seemed to forget he was still engaged to the niece of the Vice President [the jilted bride-to-be found out from reporters at the train station in Chicago while she waited for her maid of honor to arrive].

So really since Coolidge we've stayed beneath the radar.  More or less.  And okay, there was that other thing too with me, but it was eventually settled out of court.

Certain young persons of good background, take note.

Poor little prince Harry. I wonder when they're going to let him in on the secret that he's NOT a Windsor?
