108 Years remaining until end of Mayan Long-Count Calendar, Return of Quetzalcoatl, End of World

on 21st December 2012, if you're counting from the year 1904, that is.

Benares, India.  On the banks of the River Ganges, circa 1904

In all the excitement about Rufus Wainwright's concert Sunday night at the Bowl, (See open thread below), I neglected to follow up on saving the world.  Which we did.  For the time being at least.  No, really, don't mention it.  Glad to help.

In spite of the horrible weather (rain) and impossible parking situation ($12, at the Staples Center downtown, and good luck finding your way in to the garage), I managed to overcome these and other obstacles (ennui, lethargy) and participated in the recitation of prayers for the planet and sundry other activities of the Global Mala Project this past Saturday.

I was happy to do my share, chanting the Gayatri Mantra and other prayers 108 times (the sacred number, as I explained to you before).  I got the T-Shirt too ("108! Yoga as Peace in Action"), even though I did not actually perform the 108 Sun Salutations but know people who did (and I bet they were sore the next day!).  Lots of very flexible and bendable men and women present, with that lovely glow about them that comes from regular physical acitivity and never consuming aritificial additives, preservatives or any unnatural substances, combined with an extensive knowledge of Kundalini Yoga -- the shakti energy was pretty intense, trust me.

So there.  Now you know.  Universal consciousness is in pretty good shape for a little while longer.

And staying on the spiritual front: more good news!  Eduardo Santiago is headed tomorrow to a speaking engagement at School of the Holy Child for Girls in Rye, New York.   And the school opened its doors under the leadership of First Perfect Mother St. Ignatius in 1904

Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury, Everything is Sacred, and there are no Coincidences in Life.  I rest my case.

Blessings to you all.
