Twin Falls, Idaho

is laid out as a planned community in 1904.  Twin City Bank opens in North Little Rock, AK.  And as previously noted, the first Bobbsey Twins book is published in 1904.

Having a Set on Set: the Zarian Brothers flank Knots Landing legend Donna Mills on the set of NIP/TUCK. Left to Right: Lawrence, Donna, and Gregory.

The sexy Zarian Twins, Lawrence and Gregory Zarian, play sexy twin plastic surgeons alongside the incomparable star Donna Mills, [known to millions of faithful fans as Michelle Lee's "least popular sister-in-law and homewrecker" Abby Fairgate Cunningham Ewing Summer] in an upcoming [February 5th, 2008] episode of F/X's NIP/TUCKCheck your local listings.

Faithful readers may wonder that of all the historical tidbits, acerbic wit, veiled allusions, comforting words and (dare I say it?) emotional solace offered in these pages, the most popular posting thus far at 1904 is a picture I published back in July of my dear friend R. Stone and Chums on a Museum Outing, filed in one of my (if I may say so) more entertaining and informative posts on decorating legend, Elsie de Wolfe.

I have now received half a dozen e-mails of that photo of Stone and Company at the Prado as it has traveled around the globe and back again, not one acknowledging or crediting or otherwise alluding to its source.  No, I realize we cannot always choose the form, if any, that our fame may take.  Therefore, being in a joining-not-beating spirit, I invite all of you to submit your celebrity and entertainment news, noteworthy items [blind or not], humor-in-uniform, and pictures for Internet posterity to 1904!

The only rule, besides impeccable if somewhat capricious taste and discretion (oh, and bribes and favors; and I can be had fairly cheap) is that you must have some kind of 1904 association -- No Exceptions! -- remember, it's "The Year Everything Important Happened" If you scroll down through previous postings, you will see exactly how tangential or pertinent that association may be. as the occasion demands.  Enter as often as you like!  Tell your friends!  It's Free!

As for those adorable Twins, can't wait to see your show! Or, as I used to like to say in a telegram sent backstage to my actor friends on the night of their various premieres, usually accompanied by a bouquet of pink rosebuds: "A warm hand on your opening." [Ed note: should that be plural?]

And as for those of you wondering what's happened lately to Didier and Pam, oh my darlings, my precious ones!  Imagine (if you will) that I have reacted to your question as though stung, have briefly frozen in place to regroup, then that I've darted furtive looks in both directions before leaning in conspiratorially (and up or down, depending) as I mutter ominously out the side of my mouth, "I'll tell you later..."
