Heat wave.  Went for a walk and took Lily who found something dead or worse to roll in.  The sidewalks were hot on her little feet but we didn't want to carry her after that because she smelled.  She kept stopping in the shade and looking sad.  Bianca hosed her off when we got to the party.  Otherwise no one would have wanted to pet her. 

Peter Lorre (1904-1964), the actor who played unsavory types like the man who pursues little girls in M and Joel Cairo in The Maltese Falcon, came here in the 30s.  Lily met a pug at the party.  He had Peter Lorre eyes.  They did not get along.

More wondering about where we'd live, where we'd go, but knowing we are probably staying right where we are.  For the time being.
